Greeting from President

Greeting from New President

Hallelujah! First of all, I hope that you are comfortable in the Lord!

I cannot imagine how hardly you are confronting troublesome time due to COVID-19. I, your humble servant apologize for saying hello remotely. I hope everyone allows my remote greeting with a broad heart.

Dear members of CPTI!

According to the tradition of CPTI, I, as a newly appointed president, should have met you before the new academic year begins. I really wanted to see you - students, alumni, boards, and faculty - face to face, but the COVID-19 emergency inhibited me to come over to you. Under this unavoidable circumstance, I would like to briefly explain here aboutthe introduction of myself, ② my philosophies, and ③ my plan for CPTI here in my greeting letter.

Firstly, the brief introduction

I had been owning a vision for the world mission throughout my life-long ministry. After resigning from the chairman of the GMS and from my pastoral ministry for 33 years, I was elected as a senior pastor and appointed as a candidate for a new president of CPTI. I was convinced myself of God's last command letting me serve for CPTI and accepted the position of the president of CPTI. However, I apologize that I cannot immediately move to you under this unavoidable COVID circumstance. Please kindly understand.

Secondly, my philosophies.

Above all, I will defend Reformed faith based on the Reformed theology. To become a “peace-maker president” rather than the “good-person president”, I will work through ① good communication and dialogue, ② love and trust, and ③ honesty and transparency. Also, I will do my best to secure the finances for the operation of the school.

Thirdly, my plan for the development.

CPTI has been educating students under a sound confession of faith. I will inherit such a good legacy of CPTI. CPTI also has been progressing according to the long-term plan for development. Like my predecessors, I will dedicate myself to push CPTI to progress according to this plan. To this end, I will take the lead in securing the financial foundation of the school, strictly comply with the organization and HR management of the university, and the ethics of public officials, and keep cooperation with the Cambodian Presbyterian Council, the CPTI alumni association, and the faculty association. I will do my best to develop the school. Finally, I will try to make sure that there is no obstacle to the academic schedule after closely discussing it with the directors and the deans.

And finally, my dear CPTI family!

Now, I just gave you a simple, non-face-to-face greeting, but when I begin to engage and start my business as your president there in near future, I will give "Glory to God only" just like the motto of CPTI states. I will do my best to raise ① a man of the Bible, ② a man of the Holy Spirit, ③ people of the Cross, and ④ establisher of the kingdom of God.

By all means, I wish you always healthy and victorious over the COVID-19 situation!

Thank you and Shalom!

Sincerely your new president,

Rev. Kim, Jaeho
